Baby Blob

Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?
Baby Blob will use the NHS's Choices API, for gleaning new born baby statistics such as weight, sex, and breast fed or bottle fed data. The default state of the site will display the weight data translated into a visual representation of the total mass of all the new born babies born in the UK. The amorphous fleshy animated blob (java or flash based) would be shown next to an object used to represent the real world scale of the growing blob. Initially we could use busses and small houses as scale indication of the size of the total baby mass. As time goes on and the blob grows with the new born data, famous large landmarks and buildings would be used to show scale. The blob will have an animated lifelike fluid behaviour, and be able to split, divide and change colour if filtered for data other than just weight. Blobs can be generated for individual years and compared historically.
