Integrate UK

Submitted by: Alexander Kiselinchev

Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?

Integrate UK is a website that will help EU Nationals working in the UK integrate into British society. This website will provide them with the necessary tools to learn the language and to enjoy and enhance the cultural profile of the UK. This website is different from others on the market because it will give users information in English and in their native language (unlike the Home Office Border & Immigration agency and Direct.gov), and about topics that do not only relate to immigration matters (i.e. different touristic attractions, job searching advice, cheap calling rates and local language schools).
The website will resemble a wiki (similar to Wikipedia), a website where almost anyone would be able to enter information in any language. It will also be very interactive, allowing people to contact others in order to ask for advice on a wide range of matters relating to living and working advice.

What information or services do you need?

I will need three main types of services.

Firstly, I will need funding support to help cover the costs of the design of the website and other related costs (IP rights, legal related matter, marketing, travel, etc). The cost of designing the website by itself is estimated to be around £3,500.

Secondly, I will need useful information from the government that can be put onto the website in order for EU Nationals to access. I will have this information translated and will add additional information based on my own experience. As the website starts attracting initial users, people will be able to enter their own information (which will be edited upon submission).

Finally, I will need help in promoting the website through a variety of media outlets. The government is in the best position to do this. I firmly believe that this idea corresponds with the goals and objectives of the UK Government in relation to helping non-English speaking EU Nationals integrate themselves within British society.
