Wikify "Second Earth"

Submitted by: Eric Orozco

Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?

Declare all data representing the Earth part of the public domain.  This will help planners, architects, governing officials, civil engineers, etc.  It will shore up understanding of the Earth and help everything from transport to the tourism industry.  It will help folks study their world better and discover ways of making it all function better.  Societies will better understand their deficits/strengths with regard to infrastructural, economic and geographic issues.  It will encourage them to seek coordination and collaboration to eliminate physical inefficiencies and opaque governance over them.

What information or services do you need?

Mapping, video and photographic representation, especially representing the 3-dimensional Earth.  Simply allow Google Earth to have more interoperability, GIS-like features (like a scale please!), and more "Second Life" features.  Assure democratic access under a wiki-like governance structure.  Make it a layered space where folks (including architects who want to showcase their planned designs in 3-D space)can advertise if users choose to click on advert features.
