Tax and Spend

Submitted by: Faraz Babar

Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?

The idea is to help citizens understand where tax money is being spent. This gives citizens an understanding of their government's priorities as well as a real-time map of spending. It also allows representatives to analyze how such funds can be spent better and reallocated for higher priority items.

What information or services do you need?

1. Budget information at all levels and granularity (from central government down to city councils)
2. Every expenditure needs to be captured so real-time graphs on spend can be created.
3. Audit, budget shortfalls and emergency allocations as they are made.

Please note that this system is just as useful a financial tool for internal use as it is for public consumption.
