ReCycle

Submitted by: Keith May

Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?

A cycle route planning web site to encourage people who want to do more cycling, either to save themselves money, get fit, or just enjoy time with themselves or their families.

What information or services do you need?

A blend of geographic, environmental, traffic and statistical information to allow people to plan the most efficient (e.g. flatest, or most direct), or healthiest (e.g. include gradients for developing levels of fitness required), or least damaging (e.g. enable calculation and avoidance of busy traffic routes and high air polution areas).

Other local amenity info like places of interest, refreshment stops, toilets, etc, along the routes could also be available on selection.

Comments

This would be a great idea, maybe even better with the addition of suitable places to secure/lockup bikes.
